Thomas Arnett, Research Fellow, Clayton Christensen Institute

Thomas Arnett is a Research Fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank dedicated to improving the world through disruptive innovation. His research focuses on the changing roles of teachers in blended learning models. He also studies how teacher education and professional development are shifting to support the evolving needs of teachers and school systems. Additionally, he examines policies and innovations affecting technology access and infrastructure



Bonnie Lathram, Contributing Author, Getting Smart

Bonnie has taught elementary, middle, and high school students in the United States and Tanzania. She honed her skills working with students, mentors and families as a teacher and counselor at an innovative public high school near Seattle. She has extensive experience coaching and training teachers across the United States, leading professional development for school-based teams in the US and internationally. Bonnie designed college and career programs and co-authored Big Picture Learning’s guide on non-cognitive factors related to student success in college and career. Bonnie is passionate about fostering student voice and personalized learning. 



Bryan Wood, Principal, Crater Lake Charter Academy, Oregon

Bryan Wood is Executive Director of Crater Lake Charter Academy, an independent public charter school sponsored by Jackson County School District 9 in Oregon. Crater Lake Charter Academy offers students an alternative to the traditional brick and mortar classroom by offering a blended model of online learning and classroom instruction, along with homeschool support, as well as a virtual option. Under the leadership of Bryan, Crater Lake Charter Academy has grown to serve many students in the region for various educational need and serving students from grades K-12. 



Renae Abboud, Education Consult, Fuel Education 

Renae is an Education Consultant at Fuel Education where she provides professional services and consulting to meet and exceed school district online and blended program goals. Renae specializes in working with administrators through all stages of a blended learning implementation, including the strategies, design, plan and evaluation stages. She consults and partners with district leaders on strategically driving program effectiveness.  Renae develops and establishes various workshop programs and has been a speaker at various education conferences such as iNacol, EdWeek, and BlendEd.


Travel

Fuel Education will host a complimentary Welcome Reception on Tuesday, March 10. Breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks will be provided on Wednesday, March 11. We will provide all of the necessary materials for the workshop.  Wireless internet and parking is complimentary. It is each attendee’s personal responsibility to cover the cost of  their air, hotel and miscellaneous travel expenses. Please contact Joy Smith at joysmith@getfueled.com for questions regarding logistics.
